Metamorphism is a textiles study on the process in which rocks are transformed through minerals and water having had pressure applied over a period of time. This is explored through experimental dye techniques to recreate the unique patterning that occurs in metamorphic rocks. Using natural extracts and dyes with natural sources of acidic and basic materials to gain specific colouration. The end process involves low pH in combination with a shallow hot water bath to treat an upcycled cotton sheet. The result is unique spreading of three dye baths.
